About Tatiana Newton

Hey! I'm a founder of Newton Yoga and Posture.
if you little curious '..who is this Slavic girl I've booked my sessions with..' then carry on ready.
Movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Ukraine, where I was a gymnast and dancer, and later gained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
I moved to the North East of England 23 years ago, and from my very first week here I began practising Ashtanga, Hatha and Kundalini yoga. A few years later, I joined the Iyengar Yoga Institute and began my 200-hour teacher training. By then, I knew yoga wasn't going to stay a hobby. I wanted to take it seriously and make it part of my professional life.
During 5 years ( last 2 years YTT) of training with the Iyengar Yoga Institute, I immersed myself further through additional training, conferences and yoga conventions, learning from experienced teachers and developing my understanding of the body and movement.
Over the years, my work has taken me into many different environments. I've taught children and adolescents in schools, worked with school staff ( Marden and Whitley High), run yoga therapy with cancer patients, taught within a psychiatric hospital in Newcastle, led classes and workshops in UK and Europe, and spent many years working privately one-to-one with people of different ages, backgrounds and needs.
I've never stopped learning. I attended a course in breathing, pranayama and chanting with Leslie Kaminoff, and continued developing my knowledge of anatomy, movement, breathing and nervous system regulation.
My interests also grew beyond yoga. I trained in NLP and life coaching and became a qualified nutritionist, Pilates teacher and professional massage therapist. I'm also qualified in chakra healing, and elements of that training are incorporated into my Monday Somatic Yoga Therapy class.
Yoga is still an important part of my work, but it is no longer the whole story.
Today, Newton Yoga and Posture brings together everything I have learned over the years and I'm still fascinated by what the human body is capable of 🫶🏻
Can't wait to meet you at my sessions! Tee
